Land O'Spex
Nestled in Dundee's West Port, independent eyewear boutique Land O'Spex (formerly known as Spex Pistols) are known for their outstanding customer service and unique range of vintage, one-off and designer frames. We have been their creative partner over many years working on some of the weird and wonderful ideas that come from shop owner Richard Cook.
As well as designing and developing their e-commerce website, we also developed a system for the capturing and cataloguing of all their products to help streamline the whole process of managing stock and new products.
Less punk and more cakes
Rebranding a local icon
After a trademark lapse led to a legal shutdown by the internationally renowned punk band The Sex Pistols, the original Spex Pistols brand was no more. In response, we created Land O’Spex: a new identity inspired by Land O’Cakes, the iconic Dundee bakery whose sign you might be able to find on a gable end in Stobswell.
The new brand brings a playful nod to local heritage while carving out a fresh, distinctive identity. It launched alongside a redesigned website, giving Land O’Spex a bold new home online.
